ive been reading up on this - are you sure its just not an overly sensitive single band emf? OK it has a temp gauge and a light on it but otherwise isnt it mainly a emf metre thats more sensitive than a KII (and we all know a KII is overly sensitive as it is)?
I just fear you'll find its a complete waste of time and designed and sold to make money from 'paranormal researchers'. When you test it out do post up results.

Well as they say...'you don't know 'til you try'...so we'll just have to wait and see and I don't reckon at least testing it will be a waste of time. And at least as a freebie, it won't have been a waste of money :)
I see the sensitivity of the KII didn't stop you guys using yours with Baz the other week ;)

True Dom, No bit of equipment should be downed untill at least tryed and tested,

We have plenty of locations to try it out on, so hopefully we can test of each , and i am sure it will give some interesting results, Thanks for the "positive reply"

Cormac,
I will let you know how it goes. Ian has been testing this already and as far as I know he has been happy with it. I have been trying it out around the house and as the specs say when you are measuring temp/emf the readings are a bit slower to read. However on burst mode it is extremely acurate. I believe Ian also has a video on this meter on the PRAOB website. I do realize it is not a tri-axis meter but I think this will be good piece of kit to help track temp/emf variations.

Cormac chill, I actually don't know why your posts are not coming up automatically, as you know I am not a tech guy but I will have ryan sort it out.
Secondly EVERYONE keep it civil ....seriously I feel like a daddy here sometimes. Can't we just have an adult discussion and keep sarcasm to a min....please????????

Sorry David, Cormac, Reason i got "Sarcastic", You are always the first to be there with a negative response,be it new ideas or new equipment we are trying, It is for all teams to support one another, Not to put down one anothers efforts in trying new things or new equipment. You where very quick in downing the MelMeter with out knowing how the results would be. Maybe "and i am not by no means being smart here", If you took a different approach in comments, people may not be so quick to as you say jump on you. We are trainees here cormac yes, but like all members of a team we will stand up for that team if we feel it is being downed in any way. Not one of our members go to your site and criticize
you or any of your teams ideas or equipment, But yet your always doing it to this team. Cormac again we are adults here and if i was sarcastic earlier in a post i am sorry, But maybe you should ask why i was being like that.

In my opinion, the Mel-80704 ProNavigator, is just another senseless periphery device!
The only devices worth their weight in salt are a video camera or camcorder.
The likes of the above-mentioned apparatus and similar ones like thermometers, EMF’s, KII’s etc are supposed to aid detection, rather than capturing evidence, and as such, I think they are a waste of time!
If you want evidence, a minute drop in temperature, more often then not due to some completely natural environmental influence, doesn’t constitute this!
There are too many bells and whistles attached with investigating these days, and that too me just leaves more room for misinterpretation.
ps:why isnt there a Liverpool smilicon???

I think you have some valid points here. We primarily use EMF meters to detect mademade sources to rule out EMF which could cause apparent paranormal events. I think this will aid us in tracking down cold spots or drafts from windows ect.
I do agree that we need to rely less on equipment and get back to basics. Saying that how could i turn down the chance to test a piece of kit for free???
Come on, not many groups would turn down free kit....
PS if you can find a Liverpool smiliy i will put it up just for you my friend lol
