It was filmed in Daylight earlier today (25/02/2009) you can here TodayFM's Ray D'arcy show in the background as well as some running water from one of the taps. I filmed this and made sure there were no strings, sticks or hands moving the wood.
What are your thoughts?

Om My that is a hard one tony. at first i was thinking could it be someone pulling it with a string but you said there was no string or wire. again if the wood was polished on one side as for the chopping board could it have been the vibrations from the radio causing it to move ,ok you have me puzzled lol

I'm not sure Tony....on a guess I would say that there is a hollow carved in the underside of the wooden block, inside which, something small has been placed...like a small kids motorised toy or some really mega strong jumping beans ;-) LOL I'm guessing that the water and the radio are masking the sound of low motorised noise?? I'll have another look and see if I can come up with a better explaination

You are getting quite good at this Dom, well done.
It is actually an upturned box, notice the dove tailing at the end of the box...
I just put a tiny remote control car inside and Hey Presto moving piece of wood with no wires. Yes the running water and the radio were to help disguise the sound of the motor, it may be small but it's noisy! If you gave the clip your full attention, when the camera went across the sink the taps weren't on, an indication that the audio wasn't original to the clip.

You didn't give me time to think about it..... boo hoo.... however if I was honest I had thought must be something under the wood before your explanation, and not of the paranormal nature! However it's a good exercise to look at and wonder could your home be infested with a large army of ants? Or maybe a trapped mouse / pet gerbil or hamster... well the ants theory has to go - wrong time of year... animal based it would have moved also sideways...
can I ask you "do you ahve anything better to do?" !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thata was a good one tony and you know what you are right. because i heard the water running it did not dawn on me to look and see if it really was. i suppose i was looking in the box instead of looking at the wider picture . well done on that. :goodpost:

Ah very good Tony! You know, my initial reaction when I looked at it was, that it was an upturned old style wooden pencil case (because I thought it looked like dove tailing that you pointed out...not that I knew it was called 'dove tailing' of course!) but then I thought that I was mistaken as when you look at the right hand side of the box at the end of the clip, it does look like just a piece of wood (hence the reason why I went down the carved hollow route). And I know it's easy to say after the fact, but honest to God, I did notice that the tap on the right wasn't running!! But then, when for a second the camera shows the tap on the left, it's a little in the shadow, but it kind of looks like it's dripping a bit, so I thought that must be it as it was hard to make out! Honest! So can I get a gold star??!! :D
