 I know that MANY people are sceptical regarding mediums due to a high number of self proclaimed mediums who are nothing of the sort.. HOWEVER it should also be noted that 2 Mediums will be at The Helix in DCU in the coming months for those who DO have an interest in mediumship therefore this note is for information only

Derek Acorah will be in The Helix on Friday 3rd and Saturday 4th April - €30.00

Tony Stockwell will be in The Helix on Friday 5th and Saturday 6th June - €35.00

I know people who have been to see Derek Acorah and have enjoyed the show. His mediumship may or may not be questionable, depending on your view point, but you can't argue with his showmanship. Even Most Haunted was more entertaining when Derek and Sam were on a roll!
Though to be honest I have better things to do with my money (well the wife and kids have better things to do with my money, being totally honest)!

Can I say something without getting in MAHOOSIVE trouble from the moderators and forum users...:grave:

If you haven't met somebody in person how can you decide on whether to believe in them or not? Equally people shouldn't "bash" that person, nor slag off people who would like to attend either, or both mediums. I started the thread as I know that SOME people on this forum and visitors would appreciate information on these 4 evenings

It's the same with celebs - what we read in the papers is not all true - I personally disliked an A lister due to the press, to find that they were incredibly generous, and the complete opposite to what the press said...

Now I am going to defend DA (don't worry I won't mention his name) - yes, he has made mistakes, but show me one person who hasn't made mistakes!! I think that there was a lot of pressure put on him, like many mediums on various programmes, and instead of saying "can't pick up on something" he went down the path to which he was led... that was is downfall, however he SHOULD have been aware that from a skeptics point of view proof that he was what he said he was, would be tested at some point.

After MH I was incredibly skeptic of DA to the extent I wouldn't dream about going to one of his theatre appearances, and didn't believe he was a medium at all.. however I did meet him, as in DA, by chance .. and from MY abilities was able to pick up that he is the genuine article - I have been to one of his shows, and one of Tony Stockwells - they BOTH give a good evenings worth of mediumship, and I do not doubt that they are both mediums...

I have booked tickets for DA too, and will do the same for TS when the tickets come on sale.. for those of us who find such evenings informative, interesting, and useful we shouldn't get "bashed" for OUR point of view!!!

We do however have no problem with constructive debate on the subject of mediumship and everybody should be open minded if they haven't experienced something at first hand, when they do LET'S DEBATE!!

Delboy - see you on the 4th!! :boo:

Druid, personally speaking, I am open minded to the whole area of mediumship and associated disciplines. I have met psychics/mediums that have seemed to show genuine ability and I have also met those who less ability than a brick. I haven't met Derek Acorah in person, though I have seen a lot of him on TV, as I am sure have most of the people who use this forum. From that people have formed opinions of the man and his abilities. I am sure that no malice has been meant by any of the posts here and I am sorry if any of these posts have caused offence to you or anyone else. We wish our forum to be informative and enjoyable. If you have a complaint about any post be that from a member of the forum or a moderator PM David, Ryan or myself and we will take the matter seriously. We believe everyone's opinion is valid, but sometimes those opinions may not be expressed in the best way.

I am not knocking your opinion Druidsgirl or anyone else on this thread. as everyperson wno attends this has a right to there own opinion as do you. Please do not think that i am knocking you or your thread as i stated it is just my own personal opinion.

I have based my opinion on things i have seen and read and of someone that has been to see DA, Again people come to this forum to post opinions and views and i am sure not one person that posted ment in anyway to offend you or slate what you post.

Again as i said even if we do not agree with ones opinions it is the right of that person to have one "opinion" weater we agree with it or not.

Danny - all is well :) I started the thread and put in to sceptics corner for information purposes - some of us will go - however I don't believe that every medium is a medium - after all we could all do a great business setting up as one - there are now over 4,000 in the UK alone - there I shall remain VERY SCEPTICAL of the claims!!!! (Until proven!) :)
