Hey everyone,
Through my own research into equipment used to detect paranormal activity, I came across these 2 pieces of equipment known as a Frank Box and its successor a Mini Box.
Apparently, These are able to pick up white noise and instantly played in the Human hearing range.
Which, correct me if im wrong, is suppose to be 300hz to 3000hz.

Hey,
The very first group that I joined in Arizona was a group that had created "boxes" along this concept. They claimed that these four containers would actually attract spirits and send them to the other realm! They actually sent me an EVP which was supposed to be the spirit, named Robert I think, saying Bye-Bye. But you could easily tell it was the investigator faking the voice:)
There boxes didn't look anything like the Frank Box, rather exactly like the containers used in the "Ghostbuster" movies.
I haven't come across anyone who has used the Frank Box, but most investigators in the states don't believe it could work.

Is this what they call the ghost box?
I am not sure about these as I try to keep an open mind on all sorts of way of spirit communication.
The thing is, I thought it was crap but then I heard a few recordings that were posted . I have heard some really ridiculous recordings that you can hear absolutely nothing but random words from a radion that could be anything and then I heard some that stopped me in my tracks a bit because I was hearing an answer to a specific question and I heard it straight away and it was something that yoiu wouldnt expect to hear from a radio.
To be honest, I am not sold on this but I am open minded. I just heard some recordings that stopped me in myh tracks. I will see if I can find these.
I have seen and heard ghost manipulate things in the weirdest way and so I will keep an open mind on this.

I would be somewhat wary of the practicalities and possible variations of complications behind the device, beside the technological possibilities of auditory pareidolia (like that of the theorem of Carl Sagan and the highly personal personification's of Clarence Irving Lewis) the financial cost seems to somewhat out weigh the scientifically variable results granted by its use.

Thanks for posting that sean.
I heard those responses even before the fellow said what it was. I heard exactly the same thing as he said it was saying. I didnt feel I was experiencing paradolia with this.
I have heard responses on these boxes clearer than that and precise answers to questions. This is why I am open to this idea.
There is an American that I converse with and he experiments with this a lot. Some things I have heard from his box have been very clear and precise answers. I have heard a female and male answer to the question right after each other. Usually there is one voice that answers in behalf of others so they say. Like a spokesperson in the one place. I have recognised this one voice answering from different recordings taken at different times.
One time he posted a file that had this same voice answering and then suddenly I heard a woman say "put your shoes back on"
I mentioned this is what I heard and it surprised him because he told me he did actually remove his shoes deliberately because it was something to do with the experiment in the way the spirits come through. I cant remember exactly what that was. I had no idea his shoes were off but that is what I heard.
I am surely not sold on this but I am intrigued.

Wow,
That sounds interesting. Im curious as to how such a device can get so many responses from spirits. I wonder what the energy requirements are for these things in the sense that the spirits need the energy to respond so many times and so clearly. Hmm Im vexed!!!!

I think as with any piece of paranormal equipment there is mixed feelings about this box.
Anyone interested in possibly building on of these I have found a link. As I have said I have never used on and there are obviously people on both sides of the fence when it comes to this device. You decide

I happened to be watching that episode of Paranormal State on Living2 last night. I hadn't seen anything about the Frank Box before so I found it really interesting. I was very skeptical before hand but after watching that and reading about Tracey's experiences I would be open. As with everything though, no matter what you are told you still feel the need to experience it first hand before believing. So let me know if you end up making one Seany ;)

Oh, i definately agree with you 100%.
We all read tons of research, watch videos, look at photos and listen to e.v.p's and even though its all amazing it just isnt the same as having a personal experience. When people ask me if i believe in ghosts, spirits etc. I say yes i believe in it all but "Im still waiting to have a personal experience" oh and hopefully document it. I hope some day i can change my reply to people!!!!!!!

So true Seany....and it's the 'documenting it' part that is the hardest bit...the Holy Grail so to speak.
I've had a few personal experiences myself, but even with most of them I still have to doubt if it was just me, just in my head, as I was alone when they occurred.
But like the new X-File move....'I want to believe'. :disc:
So Seany get cracking on making that Frank box and we can all help you test it out ;)

I think that if yoiu can get evp successfully and a lot easier, why bother with building a device like this.

Very true, but this device claims to get better results rather than just using a recorder. I am not sold yet. I have had good luck with my digital recorder.

If that is the case I would tend to agree, otherwise it would have been more popular already if it worked so well..

Althought i think it sounds like a good idea.. the biggest problem its so hard to know if your getting a radio station or a voice lol.. "where are you from?" The weather in "Dublin" "How old are you?" time now is 12:"33" between the static and what you pick up.. thats my thoughts on it anyways..

Dghost has a very good point there! It was proved that this interference can happen - and was THANKFULLY broadcast with the NIPS team in the BBC series in January - where they were getting supposed intelligent responses to find out they were picking up on a local taxi firm... so it's not just radio stations... emergency services could also interfere... I'm glad that it was broadcast to show people that there ARE everyday occurances that can affect equipment that is been used on a paranormal investigation.
