Hello all, was told to check this site out by a friend. Interesting forums. We live in an old farmhouse in the middle of no where. Strange shadows and all that. Actually I've lived in a lot of different places over time. Have had my share of unexplained incidents and I love the fact that some people are actually attempting to name the phenomena now and dispell those that can be dispelled. Keep up the good work.

Dawn,
Hello and welcome to our forum. I am glad to see you took the time to register. I am curious about what's been going on at your location. If you don't mind me asking where are you located? Even if it's not in Ireland we have contacts all over the world through the TAPS International Family we could help if you wish it.

Hello David and Tony (Always nice to meet a friend of My Colin's), We live in Virginia near Danville. It's close to the North Carolina border here in the states. We have lived here for a year now and have only had a few things of note occur. Most shadows I see out of the corner of my eye I discount to tricks of light. There are a few things though that are a tad harder to throw away. I have told Colin some but the two things that really stand out are the man that seems to run past our bathroom window outside and seeing a mock image of my young son sitting in the living room watching television only to come around the corner and see him in the kitchen. Or I tell him to go to his room and he turns his head and looks at me and then I hear Wes up in his room saying, "I am mom". Then I look back and the kid I thought was him is gone.
The man outside the bathroom window I thought was just my imagination but two other people who visited here saw him too. He is about 6 foot tall. Has dark hair and a moustache. Wears tanish overalls and a hat. He seems to be running like he is trying to save someone. He runs outside from the front of the house toward the back feild. I haven't really noted a time that this happens or anything it just startles me. It almost seems like an imprint in time more than anything.
We had some dishes fly off the shelf but that could have been a shift in the floor or something. It is a very old house. There also seems to be a cat. I know it sounds weird. My husband doesn't see many things but he has seen this cat going up our stairs, will come in the room only to find all 3 of ours laying on the bed. We hear it crying sometimes too from upstairs when all three are down with us. We have checked to see if there is anywhere a cat can come inside but like my husband says even so a cat doesn't just disappear on the landing.
The other thing that happened was in my daughter's room. She was seeing a little boy laying on her couch when she would wake up in the middle of the night for a drink, would think it was her little brother and when she would get to her door and look back he wasn't there. The first time it happened she went to his room right away and he was there asleep. After we were here for a few months Sara went to Texas to visit her Grandparents. She was gone for a full month. She has a large heavy dresser in her room with a large wood framed mirror that was attached to it. It was about 10 pm and we heard a large crash above us. We went upstairs and her mirror was on the floor right side up and smashed all to peices. I watched my son Bolt the mirror to the back of the dresser myself. I know it was secure. It had to have done a complete flip to have landed the way it did. Not impossible but very improbable considering the size.
A couple of my friends say this place has a lot of activity but I have only seen a little. They tend to say that because we blow through lightbulbs fast that it means there is a lot of energy but to be honest that is a weak arguement considering how old this place is, the wiring probably just needs replaced.
One thing I will give them is that the feel of the property is rather strange. This whole area is really. Some of the old men that hang around some of the stores here have mentioned the "hoodoo walkin' ". I don't exactly know what they are talking about. I didn't grow up here so I don't know all the folklore. All I know is there are some nights I love sitting on my porch and looking up at the stars and there are others that no one in this house wants to be outside in.
I am not too worried about this place. Its a bit weird here but I don't feel threatened and don't feel my family is in danger. Its just hard to discount somethings.

Dawn,
I am glad to hear that you are not afraid and are living in your home comfortably. So many times we speak to people who are frightened by any experiences they might be having. If you decide that you want an investigation done of your house I am sure I can find a group through our Taps Family network.
If you have time we will be having a chat tonight at 5pm est just follow the chat section of this forum.

Would have loved to have attended the chat, unfortunately living out in the beautiful country side has it's disadvantages. We have satellite connection and something must have damaged something somewhere in the last wind storm as our connection is terrible lately. I can get on in short clips. Hopefully there will be more chats. I would love to join in when we get our connection sorted. As for things here, if it ever gets to be too much I'll let you know. Thanks :)
