being located near one of the most heavily and indeed early sites of human settlement (the curragh),kildare is an obvious choice for investigation.for one,you have the curragh camp,which produces stories and events which date back hundreds of years.indeed the most recent,weell documented "incident" involved a friend of mine,who witnessed an apparition manifest itself in the same spot as seen by many others!the camp has many many sites,soaked with stories of both melevolant,and indifferent hauntongs.from the darker episodes like that recorded in the fire station,or the D.B.O yard,to seemingly indifferent spectres like that at the golf club!
a site not far from the camp,in fact almost adjecent is the gibbeth rath, http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gibbet_Rath_massacre, which up until recent years (due to numerous masses),the carnage of that day was replayed frequently!there are almost too many places to mention here,but i will name two particular tentative "investigations" which i have made!both involved the family of the fitzgeralds, and there old homes,one a 600 year old mansion,the other an ancient castle,both in nurney,near kildare town!i produced interestiong pictures from the castle.the house however,seemed to hav a strange effect on my camera,which refused to work!this might seem insignificant but for the debauched and occult history of the house and its inhabitants,and activities experienced recently by some of my da's associates....

hey!i think you are talking about that which my friend saw!well,he was doing a 24 hour duty,as is common in the army,and was by himself in an elevated sentry post,about fifteen foot from the ground!probably unbeknowenst to him,but worthy of not,is that this particular sentry box was the scene of two non related suicides over the years,and is in close proximity to the aforementioned gibbeth rath!anyway,he was speaking on his mobile phone to his girlfriend when,according to her (i spoke to both parties seperately),he abruptly stopped,and physically dropped his phone.according to him,from what he can remeber,this was due to shock and the action of him cocking his weapon.across from the sentry box,is a tall thin chimney,out of which a body materialised before his eyes!it 'floated:the ten feet or so over to the door!my friend was in a huge panic but managed to radio to his colleagues below!now this is waht really got me!before anyone could get there,the spirit/manifestation/ghost attemted to open the door,by rattling the outside door handle(and,obviously the inside ,as the are attatched!
why is this odd.apart from the person doing it,wsas that as a security m,easure,the soldiers remove the outside handle and put it in their pocket,so no one can gain entry from the outside!
anyway,eventually other soldiers came on the scene!it took them quites some time to first coax the loaded weaponand then my friend down from the box!
